The Lost BeanTM

We are dedicated to delivering high quality organic coffee and teas in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. It is our goal to provide a safe harbor where our customers can create moments of business, creativity, or simple leisure. We believe that it is possible to achieve that ever delicate balance between having a successful business and working to make the world a little bit better place. Towards that end, we are committed to treating our customers and team members with respect, using only organic products whenever we possibly can, using supplies such as cups and containers that are recycled and or corn (not petroleum) based, and earmarking 30% of our company profits towards charity.

We strive to create a work environment that is energetic, fun and sophisticated. We realize that the place you work takes a lot of your time and energy; and we want to create an enjoyable atmosphere that empowers our team members and challenges them to grow, not only as a team, but as individuals as well. We understand that it is a unique opportunity that we have as a company to set an example in business, but we are also very aware that our ability to carry out the goals we have set rests squarely on the shoulders of the people who are on our team.

Some of our goals:

Customer Service: As a company we will challenge ourselves to have the best customer service in the industry. We know, that without the customer we are....well, lost...it is important that we always maintain the highest standard of quality and attention to detail, because it is the details that will separate us from everyone else....We also know that it is always important to smile, because no one wants to have an unpleasant experience, especially when they are in a bad mood from not enough caffeine anyway. Besides, it just feels better to smile and say hello.

Growth: As owners we know what it is like to be an employee, and we know the importance of always treating everyone with the respect that they deserve, while challenging them to work towards their potential. One of the goals of The Lost Bean is to create an environment where everyone can grow into a better person. Rather our team members are growing within our company, or moving on to other things, we always want them to be able to look back and think that they were better off for their time at The Lost Bean.

Empowerment: There is no cog in the wheel at The Lost Bean. Everyone is expected to step forward and help someone else without feeling like they are stepping on toes, getting in the way, or doing someone else's work. We are all working towards the same ends, and it is only by doing everything with a little more passion that we will be able to stand out.

Equality and Diversity: We are all team members, and we all come from different places with a different sets of skills and values . That said, it is important to remember that we are all equal in our importance to running a successful company. We always want to listen to each other with an open mind, and allow ourselves to prosper from our combined experiences. Equality breeds respect and positive interaction. Equality always reminds us that we are all in this together, and that in the grand scheme of things the only thing that really matters is how well we've lived life.
